This is a space for singers who want to build strong, healthy technique — and understand how to use it in the real world.

My teaching blends classical foundations with practical artistry: breath, alignment, vocal health, musicianship, and confidence — all adapted to the individual singer in front of me.

Whether you’re just beginning or continuing your training, this studio meets you where you are and supports where you’re headed.

A studio built for singers who want more than just lessons...

I'm Brie — a classically trained soprano, voice teacher, and web designer for musicians and artists. I've studied voice for over 30 years, performed across multiple genres, and taught students from age 4 to adult at both private studios and music schools.

At Music on Main and online, I focus on helping singers build healthy technique, expressive artistry, and confidence that carries beyond the studio.

My Teaching Philosophy & Pedagogy
Bridging Historical Tradition, Vocal Science, & Lifetime Health
As a singer and educator with over 30 years of performance experience and 20 years of dedicated teaching, my mission is to empower singers with a technique that is deeply artistic, mechanically sound, and sustainable for a lifetime.

My studio approach sits at the intersection of time-tested Bel Canto tradition, Evidence-Based Vocal Pedagogy (EBVP), and somatic whole-body awareness. Singing is not an isolated throat function—it is an athletic, full-body coordination. By combining historical Italian concepts (appoggio, chiaroscuro, legato) with modern voice science, acoustic research, and body mapping, I strip away the guesswork and give my students clear, actionable tools to understand their unique instruments.

The Core Pillars of the Studio
1. Whole-Body Alignment & Somatic Awareness
Before sound ever meets the air, the instrument must be aligned. Drawing on somatic disciplines and physical mechanics, we focus on uncoupling habituated tension in the jaw, tongue, neck, and shoulders. We train the body to support air pressure dynamically, building deep physical proprioception and muscle memory rather than relying solely on auditory feedback.

2. Evidence-Based Vocal Mechanics (EBVP)
Understanding how the voice works builds confidence. By grounding our studio work in modern vocal science—including semi-occluded vocal tract (SOVT) exercises, formant tuning, and aerodynamic flow—students learn the exact physiological reasons behind every exercise. This eliminates fear around high notes, registration transitions (passaggi), and dynamic control.

3. Vocal Health & Longevity Across Every Stage of Life
Singing is a lifelong journey, and our vocal mechanism naturally evolves as our bodies change. My pedagogy places vocal health and injury prevention at the absolute center, adapting technique to support singers safely through every biological milestone:

Young & Pre-Pubescent Voices: Cultivating joy, freedom, and foundational breath coordination without forcing premature weight or adult resonance into developing instruments.

Pubescent & Adolescent Voices: Navigating rapid physical growth and vocal fold mutation with gentle, science-backed registration work (SOVT and flow phonation) to prevent strain during voice changes.

Adult & Professional Voices: Refining technical efficiency, stamina, and acoustic resonance for demanding classical, theatrical, or contemporary performance.

Perimenopause, Menopause, & Beyond: Adjusting for hormonal shifts, changes in tissue elasticity, and breath support mechanics to ensure singers maintain brilliance, flexibility, and vocal stamina through mature adulthood.

4. Continuous Education & Evolving Mastery
The field of voice science is constantly advancing, and so am I. With three decades on stage and two decades in the studio, I remain deeply committed to my own ongoing education—regularly studying current research, attending masterclasses, and integrating the latest developments in vocal pedagogy so my students always receive modern, world-class instruction.

The Ultimate Goal: Whether you are preparing for conservatory auditions, performing on professional stages, or singing for personal fulfillment, my studio provides a safe, encouraging space to build an authentic, expressive sound that will serve you healthily for the rest of your life.

Voice Lessons

Age-appropriate, individualized instruction

Classical technique adaptable to multiple styles

My voice teaching is rooted in Bel-Canto classical technique and a whole-body approach to singing. Lessons focus on healthy alignment, breath connection, vocal efficiency, and expressive communication — skills that support singers across styles and genres.

Each lesson is customized to the singer’s age, experience level, and goals. No two voices are the same, and training should never be one-size-fits-all.

Creative Mentorship

Students preparing for auditions or transitions

Teen and young adult singers

Mentorship is for singers who want support beyond weekly lessons — whether that means navigating auditions, building confidence, exploring career paths, or understanding how branding and visibility fit into an artistic life.

Drawing from my experience as a performer, teacher, and designer, mentorship sessions help artists connect the dots between their training, their goals, and how they show up in the world.
